For this exercises I picked up a tennis player to draw, because it was a perfect match to the requirement of the course I am doing – “Ask the model to change poses” and all his poses were in a “dynamic position”. I had to take photos of him as because I was not able to draw as quickly as he was changing poses. I used an HB pencil and oil pastels. I used many learning resources such as videos in YouTube which cover figure drawings techniques. For this particular exercises I found as very helpful a videolesson from Chris Warner “Measuring a Figure in Life drawing”. I tried to follow his technique and it was very helpful in terms of overall approach – how to begin and how to proceed. I found very helpful his advises about how to capture the curves or dynamic of the pose with fixing the angle lines like shoulders or hips, or legs and arms turns.
