Below is my latest development, which I submit as a body of work for Part 3 of “Sustaining Your Practice”. When I started the project, I had a vague idea of depicting the plant I love and a tree’s stem as a continuation of my Riviera Garden project. At the same time, I was very intrigued by the new ink colour I bought, which falls somewhere between grey and subtle blue —a deep and complex hue. I also wanted to use the intense dark blue inks, which I love. These two colours decided the overall direction of the painting, which revealed itself ti me after I added layers of the medium. The grey part was immediately prominent, a perfect preparation for the clouds, which I saw as soon as the inks dried. There was another Turning point: I occasionally spilt some water on the right panel, and it created a strange but engaging effect that you can see in the painting, as some pale forms emerge from the sea. Instead of panicking, I just spilt water, now deliberately on other boards to create a similar unusual visual effect and worked on them.
Additionally, I hadn’t planned to incorporate the area there; it was vast even after I added the moon, but the clouds. So the moon came naturally. I expanded this idea of having several moons. I follow the moon calendar in my life, and the Moon walk from waxing to waning is the cosmic motion which fascinates me, so I didn’t have any doubts that I want it in my painting.
That was a complex, time-consuming and labour-intensive project.
The final outcome

ARTIST STATEMENT ( UPDATED)
“My artistic inclination originates from my sense of being myself in the world of the Creator. I draw and paint because I am overwhelmed with Life, exploring and celebrating my existence in the world around me. I focus on the beauty of Nature, which carries Divine intelligence and a powerful creative impulse. This profound sensory and transcendent experience inspires me to paint plants—flowers, trees, gardens, foliage, and greenery—because I see them as one of the most sensual manifestations of the Creator’s aesthetic. I am enchanted by their colours, shapes, structure, and versatility. Flowers are a pure, highly elevated positive Creator’s emotion, and I humbly try to pass a tiny fraction of it onto my canvas. I can describe this sense as deeply spiritual. My paintings are created with inks, aquarelle and pastels because I want to reduce my negative environmental impact, so I prefer to use natural, less toxic materials. I share the view that many people hold, that visual art is one of the best forms of food for thought and can influence a viewer’s mindset tangibly and compellingly. My artworks are among those which can transform the space and aim to elevate viewers’ sentiments, spirits, and emotions, helping to detach ourselves from matters that block the genuine feeling of a joyful existence every Soul is privileged and blessed to experience by the Creator.”
