Advanced Practice. Project 3: Mapping the forward path.

Exercises 3.1. and 3.2. Making your thinking and referencing and Three Dimensional mapping.

Here I post the map I have developed for one of my Untitled so far projects about chrysanthemum flowers. Starting. with the word “chrysanthemum” at the centre of the A3 size paper I worked in different directions, extending my thinking about the symbolism of the flower in Asian culture, the colour related to that symbol, and patterns to. signify the flower, the flower’s symbolism then brought me to skies and celestial symbols, types of clouds in the Japanese traditional painting. The idea to include poetry made me look at Haiku, search for famous interesting traditional ancient Japanese poetry and laws of modern haiku composition for myself if I decide to write it. All of this brought me to research online and in books, these resources can be found in my next blog posts.

I also tried to constantly refer to the summary I made for the Research Part about my strengths and weaknesses to keep them in mind while planning and working
