Painting 2. Part Four. Final assignment.

In preparation and reflection on what I could do for the final project of this part of the Painting 2 course, I decided to stick to abandoning conventional mediums as they had been asking us to do over this part of the course. So I reviewed my works for the exercises and got back to that sculptural paper wave. I have never made any works kike this before, and I decided to develop it further. It seemed to me full of potential and versatility. The Painting 2 course has been dramatically enriching and determinative to my artistic personal style and voice. I finally understood that I could consider myself creating conceptual art and installations.

Now you can watch my immersive installation as a final result of my thinking and creating process with unconventional painting materials. “Motherhood”, as I feel it. When I came up with this white wave, I realised that it has a very positive vibration. So I started to record this wave on camera focusing on its sculptural shapes. Then I searched for music. I tried a lot of tracks, but suddenly I got the idea to bring great music originating from my Qazaq culture. This excellent instrumental piece was created by the King of Qazaq waltz, as he is called in my country, a genius Shamshy Qaldayakov. Motherhood is something pure, intense and persistent.
