Exercise: A figure in an interior
Below is my work of Michelle in her bedroom catching a peaceful sleepy moment with her IPad. I did this drawing with oil pastels working with over with a brush soaked in a medium for oil paints and a baby wet napkin which works well to smooth the pigment on paper. I also did another trial with aquarelle (below) but I prefer the one which is done with oil pastels because they bring better the softness of the mood.

Exercise: Telling a story
Below is my drawing with a plain ballpen of my father in the hospital, minutes before he was taken to his surgery. I captured this, not so cheerful moment when he was sitting and contemplating onto his wrist badge which was put by a nurse. He was sitting near the hospital bed which will keep him in cruel hostage for the next three days. I used ball pen ` s numerous short thin lines to show the nervousness of both of us.
The challenge drawing by pen is that you can not wipe off the line.

Below is my drawing of Michelle waiting for her judo class in the corridor. I was very much attracted by her mood and the colours of her white kimono on a bright yellow-orange wall. I made this drawing with my set of Japanese aquarelle Gansai Tambi which gives very rich pigment.
Below is my another work for this exercise
“Children at the Spring Zoo”. I did it wit my soft pastels set by Sennelier and a special paper by Canson. I picked up a paper with grey background. This was quite experimental work for me because I decide to push myself towards abstract painting and didnt paint any facial features working more on colours and shapes, lines. I let myself to be very loose with lines. This was an early spring wet day at the zoo. I picked up a soft pastels paper with a grey background because it was very appropriate for the overall a bit gloomy day light we had that day. I also wanted to channel kids ` emotions of fun they had in the Zoo. While working I understood that I needed to add up some details to lighten up the mood I was aiming to and added bright yellow flowers.
Below is my work in progress:
