Today I have started to draft ideas to for the final work of the Assignment 1. It was recommended to come with  something we see and observe like nature mort or landscape.

Landscape. I developed a preliminary draft of my landscape  of Theos Bay, in Izmir, Turkey where I would spend a couple of weeks, so I should be able to start and compete my work. Below is a photo of the landscape.

For my study of this landscape I used  water mixable oil paints for beginners.   I tried to accurately depict the perspective and set up all the objects on  paper: the vanishing point,  the sea and the land, mountains and clouds. The most challenging  but fun part was a cloud. I plan to work on, this landscape in proper format with oil paints and canvas. I like it because it contains lot of symmetry and even if you are a beginner you can achieve a good result with the image appearing on canvas.  After doing my preliminary studies I understood that this landscape has got a good potential for developing my landscape painting  skills.
