Today I post my work I did in regards to understand and practice the linear perspective and centre point. I have found a great tutorial at art studentartguide.com which covers this topic really well engaging the reader with a practical exercise he or she can do on this website. I have read “One point perspective Drawing: The ultimate guide” and did the exercise watching tutorials “One point perspective. How to draw a Cube” and “Finding centres and equal spaces” which was very relevant to townscape drawings. I used A4 size paper, HB pencil, a ruler and a rubber.
That was a very useful exercise for me, even it looks like quite basic, but it does teach well the concept and gives you the understanding how to draw objects in perspective, especially townscapes: buildings, trees in a row, post lamps and etc.
Below are the photos of my townscape drawing exercise applying linear perspective technique.
